Deirdre Nelson, the current artist in residence at the museum in Loch Maddy is organising the production and auction of knitted fish for fundraising for the Lifeboat appeal.
Sorry for the late notice, but she's arranged a knitting bee at the Kallin Canteen in Grimsay ( for those of you from the Uists ) on Wedns 19th March at 7.30 pm.
Don't know if the bee will be a regular thing ( hope so! ) but the knitting of fish is ongoing. The pattern is a simple garter stitch one so even beginner knitters can contribute to the cause. If you can't make the bee, Deirdre can be contacted at the museum for the pattern and more info on how to contribute to the appeal.
So much to do, so little time!
